BEHIND THE LABEL

Hello! I’m Naomi — the one-woman show behind The Sewloist.

 

From my sewing studio in West End, Brisbane (Kurilpa, Meanjin), I spend my days designing, pattern-making, cutting and sewing clothing and accessories with care and intention. Everything I create is made by me — on my wonderful industrial machines — with a focus on quality, individuality, and sustainability.

 

My home and studio run on wind-powered energy, and nearly all of the fabrics I use are vintage, remnant, or designer surplus — giving beautiful materials a second life and keeping my impact light. As a result, many of my pieces are one-of-a-kind or made in very limited runs.

 

The Sewloist is the culmination of over 20 years of experience in the clothing and textiles industry — and a deep desire to do things differently. That insight has shaped me into not just a Maker, but an advocate for a more ethical, thoughtful approach to clothing — one that I’m proud to stand behind.
