BEHIND THE LABEL

 Hello! I'm Naomi Huntsman - the "soloist" behind The Sewloist. I spend much of my time mindfully making clothing + accessories in my sewing studio here in West End, Brisbane

(Kurilpa, Meanjin).

I design, pattern make, cut + sew all pieces to a high quality standard on my beloved industrial sewing machines.⁣ Both my home + studio are run on wind-powered electricity. The vast majority of fabrics I use throughout my collection are Vintage, Remnant pieces or Designer Deadstock - so as to minimise demand on our finite resources. It also means many of my designs are One or Few Of A Kind.

The Sewloist is a culmination of the skills, values + knowledge I have gained whilst working within the clothing + textiles industry for the previous 15 years.

This industry insight has also lead me to become a passionate advocate for creating a more ethical clothing + textiles industry - one that I can be proud to be a part of!
